Round 1: N’Keal Harry, WR, Arizona State

There are some concerns along the offensive line for the Redskins, specifically at center and right guard. However, there’s no reason to rush and grab an interior lineman in the first round of the 2019 draft — especially with the way the Redskins wide receivers have played.

More from NFL Spin Zone

Even before Alex Smith went down, the receivers weren’t playing well. When the 2018 NFL season ends, there’s not a Redskin receiver who’ll come close to 1,000 yards. Moreover, as of Week 16, there wasn’t a receiver with more than two touchdowns.

Arizona State wide receiver N’Heal Harry can end that. For starters, he’s a big bodied (6-3, 215 pounds) boundary receiver with strong hands. Because of excellent jump ball ability, quarterbacks don’t have to worry about pinpoint accuracy when throwing his way. While he doesn’t have elite quickness, he does get in and out of breaks very well. Moreover, he understands coverages and does a great job sitting in the zone.

On underneath routes, he pulls away from defensive backs. When asked to go down field, his deceptive speed and body control makes him a great weapon. Of course, with his length and power, he’s a dangerous red zone threat.

When the ball is in his hands, he’s also dangerous. Harry has a Dez Bryant type skill set and should provide immediate impact. He’ll work well with the duo of Josh Doctson and Jamison Crowder.
