Seattle Seahawks: 5 Most disappointing players from 2018
By Samuel Teets
Dion Jordan
Jordan has a long winding tale that ended up with him joining the Seahawks last season. He was drafted with the third pick in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. The defensive end struggled to produce during his first two seasons and missed the 2015 season because he violated the league substance abuse policy. He wasn’t in the league during 2016 and then joined the Seattle in 2017.
Jordan played just five games for the Seahawks last season, but he still managed to record four sacks and 18 combined tackles. Those four sacks were more than the rest Jordan had in his entire career and made Jordan the third leading sack artist on the team. When Michael Bennett was traded, the Seahawks needed more pass rushers to step up and Jordan had a chance of being that player.
Things didn’t work out for the former first-round pick though. In 12 games (three starts), Jordan recorded just 1.5 sacks and 22 combined tackles. He had the sixth most sacks and fifteenth most tackles on the team. It would have been a good year if Jordan had just matched his total production from last season, but instead, his numbers fell off despite playing in more games.
