Sean McDermott – Buffalo Bills

Year one couldn’t have gone much better for McDermott in Buffalo as he helped the Bills earn a playoff appearance for the first time since 1999. As for year two, well let’s just say Buffalo had a little bit less success in 2018 than they did last season.

And by a little bit, we mean a lot.

The Bills got back to their old ways under McDermott in 2018, finishing third in the AFC East with a 6-10 record. Buffalo did have to deal with a quarterback carousel all year long, but they also had a good amount of talent on the rest of the roster (especially on defense) to make up for their deficiencies under center.

Still, the Bills failed to finish with a winning record and the franchise is back to wondering what they need to do in order to get some consistent success.

If Buffalo misses out on the playoffs once again in 2019 and they don’t really show any signs of hope, the team could say goodbye to McDermott and look elsewhere for a new head coach. One would believe that the Bills current head coach probably needs to lead to the team to at least eight wins next season in order to save his job.
