4. Todd Gurley will make things tough on the Cowboys defense

Granted, the Dallas Cowboys have faced some tough teams and running backs this season, but Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams is a whole different player than they’ve faced all season. Not many teams have been able to stop Gurley this season, as he has amassed 1,251 yards and 17 rushing touchdowns on 256 carries this season. Gurley averages 4.9 yards per carry, and let’s not forget he also has 59 receptions for 580 yards and four touchdowns in 2018.

Gurley is one scary running back, and even as strong as the Dallas rush defense has been for most of the season, stopping Gurley is probably out of their range, in the aspect of keeping him silent all game long.

Stopping Gurley — a well-rested Gurley, as he missed the final two games of the regular season and had a bye week last weekend — leaves the Cowboys in a very tough spot. It is doubtful Gurley will be completely rusty, leaving the belief that he’s going to cause havoc and make the Cowboys stop him.

Even though in the last two games Gurley played in back in Week 14 and 15, the Chicago Bears held him to 28 yards on 11 carries and the Philadelphia Eagles held him to 48 yards on 12 carries, Gurely wasn’t the third-leading rusher in the league for nothing.

Gurley is one of the most talented players in all of the NFL, and being that Gurley hasn’t played in three weeks and hasn’t rushed for over 100 yards in a game since Dec. 2 at the Detroit Lions (132 yards on 23 carries), he and the Rams should have a game plan that is make the Cowboys stop Gurley to advance. If Gurley can do what he’s capable of achieving, then this game will be very close at the end of the fourth quarter.
