3. Malcom Brown, Defensive Tackle, New England Patriots

For some reason, the Dallas Cowboys don’t seem to value the defensive tackle position the way other teams do. They’ve had some success with plugging in undrafted players, but how much better would it be to put guys who have more upside.

More from NFL Spin Zone

This offseason, they need to do just that — especially after the way the Los Angeles Rams ran all over them in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. They could look to the draft in this stacked 2019 NFL Draft class, but it wouldn’t hurt to also add a free agent like Malcom Brown from the New England Patriots.

A former first-round pick out of Texas, Brown has been a strong run-stuffer for the Patriots and has been credited with 186 tackles in his four-year career. He could provide an upgrade at the five-technique for Dallas, which is something they have needed for a while now.

They could also look to add someone to play the three-technique after losing faith in David Irving and there will be some big names there such as Ndamukong Suh from the Los Angeles Rams and Grady Jarrett who has been with the Atlanta Falcons — but their price tags may be out of the range that Dallas is willing to spend on the position.
