19. Williams sees 25+ carries second week in a row

Moving on from Kareem Hunt was a tough adjustment for the Kansas City Chiefs when looking at how quickly the former Toledo star established himself as a top running back in such a short period of time.

But thanks to players like Damien Williams taking advantage of the surprise playing time, the Chiefs have proven to be just fine without their former running back in Hunt.

The fact that Williams found the end zone six times over the final four games of the regular season shows what kind of impact he’s been able to make on offense for Kansas City, and it certainly helps take some of the pressure off Patrick Mahomes under center.

Even this past weekend in the team’s win over the Indianapolis Colts, Williams came up big on offense by taking on a heavy workload with 129 rushing yards with a touchdown on 25 carries to go along with five receptions.

Does this mean Williams has what it takes to display a similar performance in the AFC Championship when taking on the New England Patriots? At least with Williams proving he’s worthy of being the new No. 1 running back on offense, the carries should be there for him either way.
