Draft a No. 1 Wide Receiver for Baker Mayfield

I know, the Browns already have Jarvis Landry and I really like Landry, but he is not a typical X receiver. Landry has great hands and is a super reliable target for Baker Mayfield, but he is under six foot tall and is better suited as a slot wide receiver. The Browns need someone they can line up outside against teams top corners and Landry just is not that guy.

Mayfield showed a ton of upside in 2018 and even broke some records along the way, but this doesn’t mean he doesn’t need more help. Luckily for the Browns, there is a lot of talent at wide receiver that should be available in the middle of the second round.

Kelvin Harmon and Riley Ridley project to be the top prospects available when they pick. Adding either to an offense with Landry, David Njoku, Nick Chubb and Antonio Callaway would give Mayfield legit threats at all offensive skill positions.

Adding a dynamic X receiver could really open up the offense for new head coach Freddie Kitchens and maybe even allow them to lean on their offense in the 2019 season. With no free agents that fit the profile of the receiver they are needing, they are almost certainly going to add one through the draft.

Their second round pick looks to be the best place to do this. They could attempt to trade for a top wideout, but this would cost them a lot more. If the Browns add someone in Day 2 for Mayfield, this offense could take a huge step forward come the 2019 season.
