EDGE Dante Fowler Jr.

Up until the trade deadline this past season, it looked as though the bust label may apply to edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr. That was until the Los Angeles Rams made a deal for him and he excelled and was constantly on the backs of opposing quarterbacks in the second half of the 2018 season.

While Fowler Jr. was earning himself a major payday with his play on the field, the leading pass rusher on the Jets was Jordan Jenkins who tallied only seven sacks. Pursuing an edge rusher this offseason should be a priority of the Jets either in the draft or free agency, possibly both.

Kentucky 2019 NFL Draft prospect Josh Allen has been frequently mocked to the Jets in the upcoming draft, a player the caliber of Fowler would be a great complement to any rookie that would be brought in.

The former third overall pick, entering 2019 at only the age of 25, will be a hot commodity of teams in need of a pass rusher this offseason. The Jets would be smart to be one of those teams. On the verge of losing his career in Jacksonville, Fowler proved that he can handle a large market team during his time in Los Angeles.
