Round 4, Pick 22: Jace Sternberger, TE, Texas A&M

Tight end has been one of Russell Wilson’s most targeted options throughout his career, and the team does not have a solid option. While rookie Wil Dissly looked the part, he suffered a devastating injury early in the year. Nick Vannett and Ed Dickson filled in well in his absence, but in a deep tight end class, Seattle should look to address the position in the upcoming draft.

The team could opt to use a first-rounder on either of the Iowa tight ends in Noah Fant or T.J. Hockenson if the make it to the 21st pick, but without a second-round pick and other needs elsewhere, the team will have to look for one on day-three. Enter enter the junior tight end out of Texas A&M, Jace Sternberger.

In his one and only season as the starting tight end for the Aggies, Sternberger put up some excellent numbers. In 13 games during the 2018 season, the 6-4 and 250-pound tight end caught 48 passes for 832 yards and a staggering 10 touchdowns.

With the numbers he produced this season, Sternberger has NFL teams taking notice, and he can only gain more attraction in Indianapolis later this month at the Combine. Expect Seattle to be one of those teams taking notice.
