Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma Sooners

Jalen Hurts transferred from the University of Alabama in January, ultimately deciding to go to Oklahoma. Hurts was the starting quarterback at Alabama until losing his spot in 2018. He is expected to be the starting quarterback for Oklahoma in 2019.

At Alabama, he completed 445 passes for 5,626 yards with 48 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He won a National Championship in 2017 as a sophomore. He decided to attend Oklahoma in hopes of being their third consecutive quarterback to win the Heisman Trophy.

Most of all, Hurts needs the grooming of Lincoln Riley to achieve a first round draft status like Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray. In two seasons at Oklahoma, Riley has groomed Mayfield and Murray into top draft picks and Heisman Trophy winners. Hurts has the ability to follow in their footsteps.

Physically, Hurts stands 6-2, weighing 218 pounds. He is athletic and is a threat to run from the pocket. He rushed for 1,976 yards on 381 carries. He is bigger than Mayfield and Murray, who were able to extend plays with their feet as well.

Hurts would be a nice pick for Jacksonville. He completed about 63 percent of his passes at Alabama. His touchdown passes to interceptions ratio 12 to 1. The Jaguars could use his accuracy.
