5 Running backs for New York Jets to target in 2019 NFL free agency
By Cory Kinnan
Tevin Coleman
Speaking of running backs seeking an opportunity to become a bellcow and get out of the shadows of another back in a crowded room, Tevin Coleman is set to hit the market at only 25 years of age. Playing behind Devonte Freeman with the Atlanta Falcons, the speedster from Indiana University has potential to become a strong starter elsewhere.

In four seasons with the Falcons, Coleman has averaged nearly 4.5 yards per carry in limited action playing second fiddle to Freeman. In that span, he has scored nearly 30 touchdowns and has bordered right around 1,000 total yards in three straight seasons. Coleman is a pure dual-threat that can come into any team that needs a starting back and contribute over 1,500 yards if given the opportunity.
Due to injuries to Freeman, Coleman was named the starting running back in 14 games this season and rushed for 800 yards and four scores, while catching an additional 44 passes and scoring five more touchdowns through the air. For a young quarterback like Sam Darnold, Coleman could be a great safety valve and security blanket for him.
Given his age and production when given the chance, a best guess would say that he is a bit more expensive than Crowell was one year ago and what Ware could demand on the open market this season. Expect Coleman to usher in anywhere between $6-9 million on the open market once free agency starts.
