NFL Free Agency 2019: Predicting the Buffalo Bills biggest moves
5. D.J. Fluker, OG
The Bills offensive line was an absolute abomination last season. Allen was consistently running for his life and they struggled to open up holes in the run game as well. If nothing else, the Bills simply must add talent to their offensive line this off season, and it starts in free agency.

There are many offensive linemen on the open market who would make sense in Buffalo, but D.J. Fluker stands out as an obvious fit. A former first round pick who came into the league with all-world potential, Fluker’s career has been a bit of a disappointment. That being said, he is coming off of a bit of a renaissance season with the Seattle Seahawks, where he was their primary right guard in 2018.
After years of primarily playing offensive tackle, Fluker has found a home on the inside and has become a solid starter in the league. He is a powerful offensive guard who can physically manhandle opposing defenders. He thrives in standard base and drive block situations where he can get his hands on a player and force him downfield against his will. Simply put, he would be a perfect fit in the Bills’ offensive scheme that is based on a gap rushing principles.
Fluker does not move particularly well, limiting his ability at the second level and in pass protection. That being said, he fits the offense well and the positives in his game are obvious. Fluker would be a strong addition for the Buffalo Bills as he would likely come at a relatively low cost and would undoubtedly be an improvement for this team at the right guard position.
