Round 1, Pick 27 (via Dallas Cowboys): Jachai Polite, EDGE, Florida

Another prospect who saw their draft stock plummet into the ground at the combine was Florida edge rusher Jachai Polite. Publically stating during his media appearance that his favorite interview was with the Los Angeles Rams because they did not pick his game apart is a bold move for a prospect at the biggest job interview of his life.

Reports came out later that Polite did not interview privately with teams in Indianapolis either. To add insult to injury, the edge rusher who was supposed to test off the charts athletically ran a 4.84-second 40 yard dash. After seeing his time, Polite pulled out of the rest of the testing, claiming he tweaked an injury; very suspect for a guy who made no mention of it beforehand.

However, there is no doubting the talent that Polite has, and who knows? He may have just gotten off to a really bad start on his 40. However, the level of quit and lack of patience shown at the combine does not bode well for the Florida man.

A player who was selected as high as the top-10 in mock drafts prior to the combine is now fighting to hang around in the first round, and here, Polite slides all the way to the 27th lap as the Raiders finally land their pass rusher.
