3. New York Jets: Josh Allen, EDGE, Kentucky

The New York Jets made an interesting choice this offseason to go after Adam Gase as their head coach. The reason this was interesting is that Gase seems to be one of the most un-liked coaches in the NFL. Sure, he continually gets endorsements from future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, but outside of him, no one seems to be on the side of the former Miami Dolphins head coach.

Gase alienated players and started trading them off or releasing them to teach them a lesson. That didn’t go well as players such as Jay Ajayi, Ndamukong Suh, Mike Pouncey and Jarvis Landry seemed much happier without Gase around. In fact, Ajayi won a Super Bowl and Suh appeared in one while the Dolphins went 13-19 in the past two seasons.

Still, they hope he’s the guy who can get Sam Darnold to the next level. While there will be a lot of work to be done there, the Jets focus on defense with their first pick in this draft. Josh Allen out of Kentucky is their pick as they get themselves an elite edge rusher who can make life easier for everyone on their defense. That is, as long as Gase doesn’t get mad and trade him to a team with a brighter future to show him who is in charge.
