Pace did a great job of assembling players who brought back the old Monsters of the Midway defense. That unit dominated the 2018 season. One of the hallmarks of the Chicago Bears defense was the way the players hit the ball carrier hard. Opposing players felt the wrath of the Bears defense and usually came out feeling like they were punished.

Sheldrick Redwine is a player who adds to the list of the Chicago Bears hard-hitting defensive players.

The Bears signed Clinton-Dix to just a one-year deal. They got an incredible deal for him. I think he is an elite player and will thrive in Chicago. The problem is they won’t be able to afford him after his performance. They’ll have other key players they need to re-sign and his price tag will be through the roof.

In that case, Pace needs to prepare. He can draft Redwine to replace Clinton-Dix. In the meantime, he adds options on defense. He started his college career as a cornerback. He has the size and speed to be a good cornerback. Defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano can move him around. Also, he’d be great on special teams.

Redwine plays with heavy pads. He goes through the ball carrier and keeps moving his legs to try to obliterate his opponent. He’ll do a good job at separating the ball from the opponent, causing incompletions and fumbles.

He has the ability to read quarterbacks and recognize routes quickly. That helps him be a ball hawk. He’s had five interceptions in the last two seasons. Redwine would be a great addition to the Chicago Bears defense and will do well at the next level.
