player. QB. Ohio State. Dwayne Haskins. 6. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 31

Rumor has it that the New York Giants dined with Ohio State quarterback on Tuesday night, the day before his pro day. After ESPN’s Josina Anderson reported that the Giants were not doing any homework on Haskins, Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller came out and stated that no team has done more work on the Heisman finalist than Gettleman and the Giants.

What makes sense is that the Giants want to portray that they have no interest in the 6-3 gunslinger so that they do not feel the pressure to trade up to get their quarterback of the future. However, in all reality, Haskins is the guy pegged and circled on their draft board as the heir apparent to Eli Manning.

Haskins put on a show at both the combine and at his pro day on Wednseday, spinning the ball all over the field with his feet set, on the move and under simulated pressure. Not to mention, Haskins looked to be in tip top shape at his pro day and moved with relative ease as his footwork displayed that of a quarterback with elite NFL potential.

Gettleman does something right for once and snags Haskins with the sixth overall pick here and sets the Giants up for their future without the aging Manning.
