There’s little doubt that the Los Angeles Rams have some concerns when it comes to who some would say I the team’s best offensive player. Under head coach Sean McVay, running back Todd Gurley has blossomed as an all-purpose threat.

Yes, the 10th overall pick in the 2015 draft was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, but these past two seasons has seen the former University of Georgia standout put up astounding numbers. In a combined 29 regular-season contests, Gurley has touched the football a combined 658 times and he’s rolled up an impressive 3,924 yards from scrimmage while scoring 40 touchdowns.

Earlier this month, Jeff Howe of The Athletic Boston reported that the four-year running back was diagnosed with arthritis in his knee. That could explain why he was so limited in the NFC Championship Game as well as Super Bowl LIII.

Down the stretch, the Rams added C.J. Anderson and he came up big for McVay’s squad. But he’s not been re-signed by the reigning conference champions. The team recently matched an offer sheet by the Detroit Lions for restricted free agent Malcolm Brown, who ran for 212 yards on 43 carries in 2018.

Veteran running back Doug Martin is also available on the open market. And considering the Oakland Raiders just signed Isaiah Crowell, the one-time first-round draft choice of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may not be back with Jon Gruden’s team. He comes off a 2018 season in which he led the Silver and Black with 723 yards and four scores on the ground.
