Round 4, Pick 124: Mike Jackson, CB, Miami

Cornerback is not an immediate need for Seattle after landing Tre Flowers on Day 3 of last year’s draft and with Shaquill Griffin on the other side. However, if Griffin struggles in 2019 as he did in the year before, then Seattle will need to have a fall back plan.

Mike Jackson out of the University of Miami is a solid day-three guy to take a chance on. While he was never able to put together a full career with the Hurricanes, he has the size and athleticism that could make him a solid lockdown corner in the NFL under the right molding and coaching.

At nearly 6-1 and 210 pounds and the hand size, wing span and arm length to jam receivers, Jackson has the measureables to be a bully at the line of scrimmage. Jackson also broke the 4.5 second mark in his 40 yard dash and ranked in the 92nd percentile in both the vertical and broad jump at the combine. This combination of size, speed, and athleticism could put Jackson on the board of multiple teams.

Here in the fourth round, the Seahawks have the potential to land quality corners in back-to-back years, hitting on Flowers last year and the potential of Jackson in this year’s draft.
