3. Riley Ridley, WR, Georgia

Riley Ridley was viewed by some during the college football season as a possible late first-round pick, but, as the year wore on, it became more obvious that just wasn’t in the cards for him. His role grew every year at Georgia, but the most receiving yards he had in a season was only 559 yards. He also never even scored a touchdown despite playing three seasons.

Most importantly, though, if Green Bay is going to grab a wide receiver in the draft, Ridley doesn’t fit their athletic mold at all.

His major issue is his lack of speed or quickness in any fashion. After Green Bay drafted three receivers that are built for speed last year, they aren’t going to change from that style of player just one year later. College statistics aren’t the only thing to base drafting a player on, but when you’re as unproductive as he was, teams are going to take notice of that at the next level.

He does a good job of running some of the shorter and intermediate routes, but he doesn’t do well on the deep routes due to his lack of deep speed. The Packers are looking to extend their offense down the field. So, despite their possible need for another wide receiver, Ridley just doesn’t fit their needs.

He’s going to get some team to fall in love with him enough to draft him, but Green Bay shouldn’t be that team.
