Honorable Mention: Jon Gruden

Around this time last year, there was plenty of hype surrounding Jon Gruden becoming the new head coach of the Oakland Raiders since he seemed the one that would help the team return to their winning ways.

While there were plenty of great things to love about Gruden, one of the main reasons why the Raiders were so excited about a second stint with their head coach was due to his history of working with quarterbacks.

If Gruden could help Derek Carr return to the level in which he looked like a MVP on offense for Oakland, it would make all of that money from his ridiculous contract seem well worth it.

Obviously, the Raiders were never going to fire Gruden after only one season with the team, but who knows what could happen in year two if the struggles continue in Oakland since it’s going to be difficult to give him another free pass as head coach.

The Raiders may have been one of the biggest disappointments from the 2018 season after finishing near the bottom of the league in the standings, but at least three picks in the first round of this year’s draft should help Gruden and company get back on track.
