The Indianapolis Colts have done a great job in the draft with Chris Ballard at the helm, and they’ll be looking to do the same this year.

The Indianapolis Colts are currently slated to have nine picks in the 2019 NFL Draft, and they could end up with more if general manager Chris Ballard decides to trade down as he’s been shown to do in the past.

However, for today’s exercise of a seven-round mock draft, I forced Ballard to sit in there and make every single pick where he’s currently slotted to pick. After all was said and done, the Colts had addressed all of their major needs which they didn’t have a ton of thanks to the excellent work Ballard has done since he took over.

Ballard has shown the propensity to take players he likes, even if it isn’t the biggest need if he likes the player enough. Malik Hooker and Darius Leonard are perfect examples of this and how it can work out great for them. That’s what I paid attention to when I was drafting for the Colts. I wanted to give them talent on the offensive side of the ball to make them more dynamic for Andrew Luck, but they also needed more defensive help to make them a balanced team.

If you feel you could do better, or you want to complete your own mock draft without having to just eyeball it, you can use the same machine that I did at The Draft Network. You can save them or run through them over and over for hours. Let me know how yours turned out compared to mine, and we can see who did the best.
