Trade: Jaguars trade No. 7, 2019 third-round pick, 2020 second-round pick and 2021 fourth-round pick to Arizona for No. 1 overall

Round 1, Pick 1: Nick Bosa, EDGE, Ohio State

The Jacksonville Jaguars have never had the first overall pick in franchise history. Arizona is looking to move down in the first round to take an offensive lineman. The Jaguars make the trade to select Nick Bosa of Ohio State.

More from NFL Spin Zone

Bosa might be the best player in this draft class. He fits the Jaguars 4-3 defensive scheme. Bosa would be the perfect bookend pass rusher opposite Yannick Ngakoue.

In college, Bosa recorded 17.5 sacks and had 77 total tackles. He played in three games last season because of an injury. However, he did have a good performance at the NFL Combine. He stands 6-4, weighing 266 pounds. Bosa ran the 40-yard dash in 4.79 seconds and bench pressed 225 pounds 29 times.

This trade to obtain Bosa is very costly for the Jaguars. Let’s say that they have to give up a third round pick in 2019, second round pick in 2020 and fourth round selection in 2021. Most of all, the Jaguars get another pass rusher with a very bright future.

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com is very high on Bosa’s potential. He gives him a grade of 6.55. Zierlein reports the following:

"…he understands how to play and should become an early starter and future Pro Bowler."

Enough of this tremendous pick and the trade to acquire Bosa — on to the second round.
