Round 4, Pick 128: Emanuel Hall, WR, Missouri

The Cowboys have made some big changes to the wide receiver corps since the end of the 2017 NFL Season. That year, the team was led in receptions by Dez Bryant, Jason Witten, Terrance Williams, and Cole Beasley. Fast-forward to now and only one player remains on the team — and that player is Jason Witten, who was actually retired in 2018 and is returning.

Bryant was released before this past season and Williams and Beasley parted this offseason. Dallas tried to go at it last year with a committee approach at wideout and it was rough to watch. They understood their mistake and thus made the move to trade for Amari Cooper.

More from Dallas Cowboys

He enters 2019 as the No. 1 receiver and has Michael Gallup starting alongside him as he enters his second year in the NFL. They also added Randall Cobb, who replaces Beasley. Allen Hurns is set to return from a broken ankle suffered in the playoffs but they have still been kicking the tires on young talent in the draft.

That’s understandable considering Gallup is the only wideout listed above who is under contract past 2019. In the end, look for Dallas to use a mid-round pick on a developmental guy — like Emmanuel Hall. The Missouri product has the desired size to play outside at 6-2 and 201 pounds and also has the kind of speed this offense is desperate for.

Hall relied heavily on his speed and needs to develop as a receiver in order to become a full-time player. Landing in Dallas could be beneficial for him considering he won’t be pressed into action too much this year.
