Green Bay Packers: Realistic 7-round 2019 NFL mock draft with trades
By Joe Kipp
Round 1, Pick 12: Andre Dillard, OT, Washington State
Recently, ESPN’s Rob Demovsky reported “indications” are the Packers’ main priorities in the 2019 NFL Draft will be defensive tackle and offensive tackle, followed by safety and tight end. Washington State’s Andre Dillard fits the mold as a draft-and-develop replacement for right tackle Bryan Bulaga, whose contract expires next offseason.

Dillard, who’s been called the draft’s best pass-blocking offensive tackle by several analysts, would have the opportunity to learn from the NFL’s current best pass-blocking left tackle, David Bakhtiari. In a recent anonymous poll of 14 NFL scouts by Bob McGinn, Dillard was the consensus top-rated offensive tackle in the draft. McGinn’s poll also revealed Alabama’s Jonah Williams to be the most overrated offensive lineman in the draft.
Dillard also makes sense for the Packers when it comes to athletic thresholds. He put on a show at the NFL Combine, notably running a 4.96-second 40-yard dash and jumping 29 inches in the vertical leap. He also put up a respectable 24 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.
At 6-5 and 315 pounds, Dillard has the ideal size for an NFL offensive tackle. He was also a four-year starter at Washington State, offering plenty of experience for whichever team decides to draft him. With Bulaga’s injury history and pending expiring contract, drafting Dillard appears to be a real possibility for the Packers. The team also had a pre-draft visit with Dillard earlier this month.
