3. Dolphins expected to go through rebuilding in 2019

Even before the announcement of the Rosen trade, the Dolphins were already strong candidates to be tanking in 2019, and the fact that Miami was willing to part ways with Ryan Tannehill only to replace him with Fitzpatrick shows that.

Despite starting off last season on a hot note with a 3-0 record, football fans knew deep down it was difficult to take the Dolphins serious since they didn’t exactly face the most competitive teams.

After seeing Miami finish with a 7-9 record despite that hot start, this sums up what kind of team the Dolphins were working with in 2018, and to top off the frustration, it doesn’t look like it’s going to get any better next season.

Since early signs point to the Dolphins going through a year of rebuilding, why wouldn’t they make Rosen a part of the process over wasting time with someone like Fitzpatrick who isn’t even going to be around for the long run?

At the end of the day, making Rosen involved in the rebuilding process almost seems like a no brainer for a team like Miami, and it’s not even worth discussing otherwise since as mentioned before, Fitzpatrick is clearly only a short-term rental for the organization.
