Cleveland Browns: Grading every 2019 NFL Draft pick
By Cory Kinnan
Round 2: Greedy Williams, CB, LSU
Incredibly, most people’s number one ranked cornerback in Greedy Williams fell all the way into the second round and right into the lap of the Browns, albeit with a trade up three picks. With the 46th pick in the draft, Cleveland has a cornerback to play opposite last year’s fourth overall pick, Denzel Ward.

On the big board linked in the opening slide, Williams is ranked as my sixth-highest cornerback and 44th overall player, so getting him at the 46th pick is about the value he merits. At 6-2, Williams has the length and size necessary to play in the league and his athleticism matches.
There are concerns about the health of Williams, who pulled a muscle running his 40-yard dash and now rumors are out there he may have a lingering injury which caused his slide. Concerns also surround Williams’ ability and willingness to tackle in the open field. However, Dorsey will not have any lack of intensity living inside his locker room, and Williams will fit in or fit out.
While Williams is not the safest of the cornerbacks in this class, he may have the highest ceiling given his length and athleticism. This pick is well above average, and the ability to get Williams in the middle of the second could pay big dividends for the Browns who are in win-now mode.
