Los Angeles Chargers: 10-6

After all the years consisting of tough starts before eventually coming up short of making the playoffs, the Los Angeles Chargers finally lived up to the hype last season by earning one of the Wild Card spots in the AFC.

Losing to the New England Patriots in the Divisional Round was a tough pill to swallow since the Chargers seemed to be talented enough to make a run at the Super Bowl, but at least this gives hope for 2019.

Of all the teams within the division, the Chargers arguably have the best chance of taking down the Kansas City Chiefs, especially after seeing how close they came to doing so last season.

Speaking of Kansas City, it will be interesting to see whether their Week 17 battle against Los Angeles will end up determining who finishes on top of the division if the race ends up being tight.

At this stage in his career, Philip Rivers knows there may not be many more chances to potentially make a run at the Super Bowl. The veteran knows the talent is there for the Chargers to make this a possibility.

Winning the same amount of games during the regular season last year as the Chiefs (12) was an impressive accomplishment for the Chargers, but the chances of this happening again seems unlikely when looking at the schedule.

But if Los Angeles plays well enough just to earn a spot in the playoffs, whether it’s through a Wild Card or winning the division, they should feel confident, no matter what.
