Seattle Seahawks: 5 Players on roster bubble feeling pressure
By Samuel Teets
C.J. Prosise, RB
Frankly, I thought C.J. Prosise might have been done in last season after the team drafted Rashaad Penny, but the former third-round pick has managed to hang around in Seattle so far. The Seahawks took Prosise with the 90th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, but he has only played in 16 games through his three seasons in the league.

One of the reasons for his limited play is his limited availability. Prosise has found himself on IR the last two seasons, which has opened the door for other players.
Prosise’s best season was his rookie campaign when he played in six games and started two. He recorded 30 carries, 172 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown along with 17 receptions and 208 receiving yards. Last season, Prosise carried the ball just one time for a three-yard loss and caught three passes for 22 yards. He failed to register a score for the second consecutive season.
While Prosise only recently turned 25, this isn’t the NBA. Players, especially running backs, usually don’t break out this far into their careers. This is especially true for running backs because of all of the wear on their bodies and it’s worse in Prosise’s case considering his long list of injuries. At this point, there’s not a lot of reasons to keep an aging, injured back like him around.
With Chris Carson, Penny and a handful of other young backs around, Prosise and 2016 undrafted free agent J.D. McKissic might get squeezed off of the roster. Besides those four runners, Seattle also has second-year runner Bo Scarbrough, rookie sixth-round pick Travis Homer and rookie undrafted free agent Adam Choice on their offseason roster.
