3. Defense doesn’t take step back

While it was difficult for the Ravens to make the decision to move on from Terrell Suggs this offseason after everything the defender has done for the organization throughout his career, at least the defense should still be one of the best in the league.

Between landing one of the top free agents this offseason in Earl Thomas to a late addition in Shane Ray, Baltimore’s defense should cause plenty of problems once again in the AFC, and put them in great position to finish on top of the division for a second year in a row.

Of course, just because the hype is there for the Ravens doesn’t necessarily guarantee things will work out the way they hope since there will plenty of teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, gunning for them in the conference.

Most years, Baltimore is known to have one of the top defenses in the league, and the unit played a big role in the team earning a trip to the playoffs last season.

As long as the defense continues to play at a high level in 2019, the Ravens should have little trouble being a top contender as usual while hopefully receiving the necessary help on the offensive side of the football.
