While there were plenty of frustrating factors behind the Panthers missing out on a playoff spot last season, the one that stood out the most was how Carolina was keeping it close with the New Orleans Saints for first place up until November.

Then again, just the fact that Carolina was, in fact, able to give New Orleans a little bit of a scare should help boost their confidence in 2019 when it comes to being able to do the same.
Of course, the Saints aren’t the only team the Panthers will need to worry about since the Atlanta Falcons will be looking to bounce back as well by earning a trip to the playoffs for the third time in four seasons.
Not to mention, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hope the hiring of Bruce Arians will finally help the team live up to the potential for a change since there has been plenty of frustration over the last few years in regards to Jameis Winston continuing to struggle.
All things considered, the Panthers realize that finding success within the NFC South is going to be a major challenge, but also necessary if they do in fact want to be considered a serious playoff contender.
