Kicker/Punter: Michael Dickson, Seattle Seahawks

The special teamer bar isn’t reset very often. It takes a one-of-a-kind talent to achieve that sort of feat. Luckily for the Seattle Seahawks, they seem to have that in punter Michael Dickson, who wowed the rest of the league during his 2018 rookie campaign.

An Australia native, Dickson faced high expectations coming into the league after the Seahawks traded up to nab him in the fifth round. It didn’t take long, though, for the young punter to prove his worth.

In 2018, he was second in the NFL in average yards per punt. When all was said and done, Dickson was named to the Pro Bowl as well as the All-Pro team — as a rookie.

His excellent skills and use of the rare drop-kick technique did wonders for the Seahawks, playing an integral role in their surprise return to the playoffs.

Dickson is only headed into his sophomore season, so it may be a while before he’s ready to sign a new contract.

However, when the time comes, don’t be surprised to see him ink one of the most lucrative deals we’ve ever seen for a kicker or punter.

Because yes, he does impact the game that much. The Seahawks would gladly attest to that.
