39
In terms of touchdown passes in 2018, it wound up being the second-highest total in the league this past season topped only by Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes’ 50 scoring tosses. And while the Chiefs’ signal caller would go on to earn both NFL Offensive Player of the Year and league MVP honors, it was Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback Andrew Luck that would garner NFL Comeback Player of the Year accolades.

And it’s safe to say that those 39 touchdown passes were just a small part of the story attached to the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft this past year.
Luck’s final figures for 2018 showed a 67.3 completion percentage, good for 4,593 yards and those aforementioned 39 touchdown tosses (to go along with 15 interceptions). But a closer look shows how the player that missed all of 2017 after shoulder surgery slowly but surely regained his touch and velocity.
During the Colts’ 1-5 start, Luck threw for 16 scores but was picked off eight times. In a Week 3 loss at Philadelphia, it was backup Jacoby Brissett that came in late to attempt a Hail Mary pass. It was a sign that Luck’s arm strength wasn’t quite up to snuff. But in the team’s final 10 contests, the 29-year old pro threw for more than three times as many scores (23) as picks.
Will Luck and the offense pick up where it left off in 2018?
