3. OLB Rashan Gary

Outside linebacker Rashan Gary was one of the most polarizing picks of the entire 2019 NFL Draft, but so far this offseason he appears to have been a great addition. Drafted 12th overall out of Michigan, Gary figures to be a key part of Green Bay’s pass rush rotation this coming season.

Gary notably beat All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari cleanly on a speed rush during a 1-on-1 drill earlier in OTAs. The two should continue to battle it out in training camp. Because of their battles, Bakhtiari had beaming things to say about Gary after practice earlier this week, saying (via Packers.com):

"“He’s a big, athletic individual who has a great first step. I can see why he got drafted in the position that he did. While it’s early, I’m excited to see him when he gets the pads on and see how he can play, and where his game truly shows up. This is only part of it. …  So far, I’ve appreciated what I’ve seen from Gary.”"

Packers outside linebackers coach Mike Smith also raved about Gary’s potential during OTAs, saying (via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com):

"“A guy that size and that speed and that athleticism, I’ve never seen it, and I’ve been in the league for 11 years. You can do a lot of things with him.” Smith coached Pro Bowl outside linebackers Justin Houston and Dee Ford during his time in Kansas City."

Gary has a lot left to prove before the hype becomes reality. But based on what we’re hearing from his coaches and peers, fans should be plenty excited about his potential.
