New York Giants: 3 Quick steps to return to relevancy
1. Bench Eli Manning as soon as possible
Eli Manning is done. As if Giants fans needed another reminder, 2004’s No. 1 overall pick has officially lost it, at least in the physical sense. Not to say that the younger Manning brother can’t be a mentor for Daniel Jones of Kyle Lauletta, but in the area of physical talent, he no longer has the ever-so-coveted “it” factor. In fact, he hasn’t had it for a couple of seasons now.

The other quarterbacks on the roster are Daniel Jones, Alex Tanney and Kyle Lauletta. As the only rookie quarterback on the roster, it’s unlikely for Jones to start on day one. However, the Giants need to pick “their guy” for 2019 (and possibly beyond that).
Lauletta is the most likely to start for Week 1, and if he works out, great! If he crashes and burns, that’s alright too. The point is not immediate success for the Giants. The point is to show fans that you are finally going in a different direction.
If the Giants decide that Daniel Jones actually is ready during the 2019 season, it could make for the most interesting outcome for fans. As the most criticized draft pick of the first round, Jones needs a chance to prove himself. Starting for the Giants provides a great opportunity for the Duke product to prove everyone wrong as a rookie.
