Cleveland Browns: 4 Veterans on roster bubble entering 2019 training camp
By Cory Kinnan
TE Seth Devalve
Seth Devalve, or “SPARQ” DeValve as he has become known to fans, was drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft in hopes of becoming an under-the-radar athletic superstar. The Princeton tight end was known for his athletic testing and ability to play in line and split out and make plays.

Last year, however, he missed all of training camp with an injury and was not much of a factor on the field as he saw his role usurped by veteran tight end Darren Fells a year ago. Fells is now gone, but general manager John Dorsey did bring in a gem he found as a member of the Chiefs organization Demetrious Harris. It is safe to say Harris will be given every opportunity to fill the role of TE2.
In three seasons thus far with the Browns, Devalve has tallied about 600 yards receiving on 48 catches and four touchdowns. Last year, however, Devalve saw only seven targets, catching five for 74 yards and a touchdown.
Do the Browns keep Devalve as a third tight end on the roster or do they give it to a guy who can be a factor in the run game like Orson Charles? A Sashi Pick, the athletic Devalve looks to be fighting for his life this Summer and will need to stay healthy and perform well to keep his roster spot.
