8. Week 8 vs. Washington

This game may be hyped up more once it actually rolls around. The Vikings host Washington on Thursday Night Football at the end of October. Depending on how Washington’s quarterback situation plays out, we may see Kirk Cousins clash against Case Keenum.

Cousins in a primetime game against his former team and the quarterback he replaced? Sign me up. On the other hand, this could be a chance for rookie Dwayne Haskins to make a name for himself.

This will be Minnesota’s first primetime game of the season. Cousins is notorious for struggling in big moments and this one comes against his former team. The Vikings went 1-4 in such games last season. Washington isn’t going to be the toughest test on the docket, but they will get pressure on Cousins. Pass rushers Ryan Kerrigan, Montez Sweat and Jonathan Allen will be a force.

Washington will also have a revamped offense aside from the quarterback situation. Running back Derrius Guice is back after missing his rookie campaign with a torn ACL. He joins former Viking Adrian Peterson in the backfield. They drafted Kelvin Harmon, a wide receiver who should compete for the slot role early on. Washington has the pieces to pose a threat on offense.

The Vikings won the last meeting and have won five of the last seven.
