2. Will Dissly, TE

This one is a little complicated. Will Dissly was selected in the fourth round by the Seahawks last year. At Washington, he was known primarily for his blocking prowess. That made him a great fit alongside Ed Dickson and Nick Vannett, who are also well-known blockers. Dickson ended up dealing with injuries though and that made him unavailable early in the season.

Dissly became Seattle’s starting tight end and he ignited the imagination of fans with an impressive showing in Week 1. He recorded 105 yards and a touchdown on three receptions. He went on to have a decent Week 2 and a forgettable Week 3 before suffering an injury in Week 4 that landed him on injured reserve (IR).

Dissly finished his four-game season with eight receptions, 156 yards and two touchdowns in all. People appear to have trouble looking past Dissly’s first game. Outside of Week 1, he really wasn’t that impactful. That might be because the Seahawks ran the ball so much, but most teams would want more out of their starting tight end.

While Dissly’s blocking is perfect for Seattle’s offensive scheme, I do think he needs to be a more consistent pass catcher in 2019. Especially with so many new, young wide receivers coming into the fold, I think Dissly needs to assert himself more on a week-to-week basis.

He’s a very intriguing second-year player, and I think he will take another step in his development by putting together a complete season this year.
