Alabama Wide Receivers

If the Bills want to spend an early draft pick on a wide receiver, look no further than Tuscaloosa. Alabama has two of the best receivers in the entire country. Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III dominated the college football landscape last year as true sophomores.

More from NFL Spin Zone

Jeudy is my No. 1 overall player in the 2020 draft class as of July. He caught 68 balls for 1,315 yards and 14 touchdowns in 15 games last season for the Crimson Tide (19.3 yards per reception). That production is unheard of, especially out of an underclassman.

Jeudy possesses an elite first step off the line. His quick feet and innate ability to flip his hips are enough to shake his defender for an easy reception. He is easily the best route runner in the country. If the Bills find themselves near the top of the draft, pairing Jeudy with Josh Allen could be in play.

Ruggs is probably going off the board in the first round as well. He’s a burner on the outside. He is one of the best pure athletes in the country and he makes it look effortless. He averaged 16.1 yards per catch last season with 11 touchdowns. I am slightly concerned that Ruggs will lose some speed once he adds mass. After all, he weighs just 183 pounds. But taking a slight decline in speed would still leave him as one of the fastest players in the country.

Alabama is loaded with wide receiver talent, and they could have two guys go in the top half of the first round next year. Buffalo will want to do their due diligence over the next nine months.
