Florida Wide Receivers

Baltimore likely will not spend consecutive first-round picks on wide receivers. Instead of looking at Alabama and Clemson wide receivers, take a glance at Florida. The Gators have an abundance of receivers who will go on to play in the NFL.

At the same time, none are expected to go at the top of the draft. The Ravens still need to add to the receiver room, and Florida has a few options with different skill sets. Freddie Swain, Tyrie Cleveland, Van Jefferson and Kadarius Toney make up a diverse receiving corps.

Swain might be the best complement to Marquise Brown of the bunch. He is best in the short passing game. His game revolves around his short-area burst and quick-hitting routes. Swain isn’t a guy who will stretch the field, but that’s what Brown will be best at. He will open the game up underneath for Swain and let him eat across the middle. Swain has relied on manufactured touches up to this point but is great at creating after the catch.

Cleveland is similar but offers less explosion with the ball. Cleveland is a reliable slot receiver that moves the chains and blocks in the run game. While he will not blow defense away, he is a pure team player.

Jefferson is the most exciting of the group. He is a blazing runner with long-range speed. He has good feet at the line that allow him to get separation. Jefferson does not have the most diverse route tree and hasn’t proven to be a focal point of the offense. However, he plays his role well.

Toney is a dangerous weapon with the ball in his hands. He can blow by defenses and is perfect for a gadget role at the next level.

No matter what the Ravens look for in a receiver next season, the Florida Gators should have what they want.
