New York Jets training camp is finally underway. It’s time to take an early look at Gang Green’s three toughest non-divisional games in the 2019 season.

Finally, New York Jets training camp is underway. It should be an interesting 2019 season as Gang Green welcomes in a new coach (Adam Gase), a new superstar running back (Le’Veon Bell) and even brand new flashy uniforms.

The green and white are looking to rebound from a brutal 4-12 campaign in 2018. There is reason for optimism as New York has upgraded its talent base significantly from a year ago.

With that being said, no regular season game will be easy. It never is for long-suffering Jets fans. All divisional contests are tough but which three non-divisional games will be the roughest for the Jets this upcoming season? Lets take a look  at the list, ranked in order.

3. Week 6 vs. Dallas, Oct. 13

Following the Eagles game, the Jets return home to face the defending NFC East champs. The Cowboys lost to the Rams, 30-22, in the NFC Divisional Round last season and feature Pro Bowlers Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper on offense, along with linebacker Leighton Vander Esch and defensive end Demarcus Lawrence on the defensive side of the ball.

America’s Team is a true, bonafide Super Bowl contender this year so the Jets will need to control the clock behind Le’Veon Bell and get a strong performance from Darnold to prevail in this demanding matchup in East Rutherford.

2. Week 5 at Philadelphia, Oct. 6

The good news is that the Jets will be facing the Eagles after their early bye week. The bad news is that they will be battling a club that went 9-7 last year and edged the Bears, 16-15 in the NFC Wild Card Round.

Philadelphia should have a high-powered offense once again led by quarterback Carson Wentz, wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey, tight end Zach Ertz and newcomers Jordan Howard (RB) and speedster DeSean Jackson (WR), who is back in Philly after five seasons in Washington and Tampa Bay combined. Gang Green’s secondary, paced by safety Jamal Adams and cornerback Trumaine Johnson, will really be put to the test in this one.

1. Week 15 at Baltimore, Dec. 12

Why this game? Did you know that Gang Green has never won in Baltimore against the Ravens? They are 0-5 at M&T Stadium.

The Jets realize they’ll be facing a competitive team with a premier defense in the Ravens and this season will be no exception. Baltimore signed free agent Earl Thomas in March to add a physical dimension to their defensive unit from the free safety position. This won’t be an easy game for Sam Darnold.

Next. NFL Power Rankings: Chiefs rule pre-training camp. dark

Baltimore went 10-6 in 2018 and captured the AFC North. They allowed just 17.9 points per game, ranking them second in the NFL. This will be an emotional homecoming for former Raven linebacker C.J. Mosley and he’ll be all fired up to battle his former club but make no mistake — this Thursday night road contest will be an extremely difficult game for New York to win.
