3. Young receivers step up

Remember how weird it felt last season to watch the Packers without Jordy Nelson in the lineup after the Packers decided to move on from the veteran wideout before he joined the Oakland Raiders?

More from NFL Spin Zone

Whatever the reasons were behind Green Bay’s decision, Nelson’s absence left a huge void in the passing game since he was arguably Rodgers’ favorite target to use in the passing game over the years.

And while the Packers are still fortunate enough to have one of the league’s top receivers in Davante Adams, they will be dealing with a similar feeling to last season this year when it comes to Randall Cobb no longer being part of the picture.

All of a sudden, Rodgers finds himself playing in an offense led by Adams in the receiving department, and a handful of younger guys looking to show they deserve to be part of this offense.

From Geronimo Allison to Equanimeous St. Brown, the pressure will be on these young receivers to step up in a big way in 2019 to help the Packers put an end to their playoff drought.

At least with Rodgers calling the shots, these young group of players will hopefully benefit from playing alongside one of the best in the game.
