3. Rashard Higgins, WR

The fans and analysts singing the praises of Rashard Higgins and a potentially big 2019 season throughout training camp have been plentiful. When healthy, he was clearly a favorite target for Baker Mayfield last season and, with more help in the wide receiver corps now, that should only open up more room for the wide receiver to work. Even without those guys against Washington, though, Higgins still showed up.

On the night, Higgins hauled in five of his six targets for 98 yards and a touchdown (thrown by Mayfield). He was far and away the most productive receiver for the Browns against the Redskins and in the game as a whole. While he won’t be the No. 1 option when the regular season begins, the hype train for Higgins only gained steam with this performance.

2. Mack Wilson, LB

Both Mack Wilson and Sione Takitaki, the Browns pair of rookie linebackers, have been showing good things throughout training camp. While the latter recorded three combined tackles against Washington, though, it was Wilson that made the big splash plays on the night and really showed his upside as a fifth-round pick.

The Alabama product hauled in two interceptions on the night, taking the first of those 40 yards to the house on a pick-six. Wilson was also able to record three tackles on the night. Though he didn’t test out as a great athlete, Wilson’s feel for the game and play-speed were evident against Washington and, if he can keep making plays, he’s going to carve out a role for himself on defense.
