4. Jarrett Stidham, QB

The evergreen narrative for the New England Patriots has been finding a successor to Tom Brady and there have been many potential candidates over the past few years. Now, it seems that 2019 fourth-round selection Jarrett Stidham may be the next in that regard. It’s early in the proceedings but the former Auburn Tiger has been quite impressive to this point.

Coming off of a strong preseason debut with the Pats, Stidham again came in and delivered a nice outing. He finished the game going 14-of-19 for 193 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions while also rushing for 18 yards on three carries. If he can continue to show up big in the preseason, Stidham could earn a leg up on veteran Brian Hoyer as the backup but, more importantly, could start the narrative that he’s the one to eventually take the reins from Brady.

3. Isaiah Wynn, OT

After using one of two first-round picks last year on Isaiah Wynn, the Patriots hoped that they’d have an immediate upgrade at offensive tackle. Instead, the new New England lineman tore his ACL and was forced out of action for the entirety of his rookie campaign. After being cleared just prior to training camp, though, Wynn has been working back and is in line to be the starter.

Against the Titans, the Georgia Bulldogs product showed why. Playing on three series at left tackle, Wynn was great in every facet of the game. He was a bull in the rushing attack and a wall in the passing game. That’s the type of play the Patriots hope to get from him throughout the regular season and Wynn showed he may well live up to expectations given what he showed vs. Tennessee.
