The New York Giants are now 2-0 in preseason competition. Here are three players with rising stock so far.

The New York Giants are halfway through their preseason slate for 2019 and sit at 2-0. That means absolutely nothing long-term but there are some positive vibes emanating from Big Blue Camp.

The G-Men are fresh off an impressive 32-13 triumph over the Chicago Bears last Friday. Sure, it’s just preseason football but here are a trio of players whose stock is rising since the start of training camp:

Daniel Jones, QB

Aside from his two fumble scenario against the Bears, the rookie signal-caller from Duke has been very impressive so far. The sixth overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft, Jones has completed 16 of 19 passes for 228 yards and a pair of touchdown passes.

Everyone realizes it’s just the preseason and Jones is facing a slew of backups and vanilla defenses. With that being said, the 6-5, 221-pounder has shown poise in the pocket, a strong and accurate arm with a nice touch on the pigskin. He needs to improve his ball security, though — quickly.

Eli Manning is going to be the starter at quarterback in Week 1 at Dallas. He’s in no danger of losing his job, at least for now. Whenever Jones is called upon to take over for the future Hall of Famer, Giants fans should exude confidence in the 22-year old. He looks like a future star.

T.J. Jones, WR

The former Detroit Lion was signed during the first week of training camp and has impressed in preseason competition so far. The Notre Dame product compiled 64 career receptions for 814 yards and four touchdowns in 42 games with the Lions. The G-Men are hurting on their wide receiver depth chart presently and Jones can grab a roster spot.

He paces them with nine catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns this summer. He’s also been returning punts and kickoffs (averaging 33.5 yards per return on two kickoff returns) and may find a place on their final 53-man roster as a wide receiver/special teams performer. He’s got a real shot.

Jonathan Anderson, LB

The former inside linebacker of the Chicago Bears (three seasons) ranks second on the squad with seven tackles in two preseason contests, along with a pair of forced fumbles. He’s making a case to add him to the opening day roster with his inspired play.

The rest of the roster depth at inside linebacker looks like this for the Giants: Alec Ogletree, Ryan Connelly, Tae Davis, Nate Stupar and B.J. Goodson. Could Anderson grab one of those roster spots? He sure could. The last two preseason games will tell the tale.
