3. Kerry Hyder, Jr.  Defensive End

So far, Kerry Hyder, Jr. has been looking like quite the steal for the Cowboys. They added Hyder this offseason on a three-year deal — a move that hardly moved the needle. However, Hyder is suddenly looking like a player in high demand.

With DeMarcus Lawrence still working his way back from shoulder surgery and Robert Quinn recovering from a broken hand (and receiving a two-game suspension), Hyder suddenly feels like a very important player. He’s been active along the Dallas defensive line and is coming off a game that saw him record three tackles, one of which went for a sack.

When Dallas starts this season, they will need someone to step up at the defensive end spot. Lawrence believes he will be back to 100 percent, but there’s a chance he may not be. Quinn will definitely be gone for the two games and could be rusty from the missed time as well.

Naturally, they would love to see 2017 first-round pick Taco Charlton step up and deliver. However, they seem to have a good Plan B in Hyder should Charlton continue to struggle to find his role.

Week 3 could give fans another glimpse as to what they could get should Hyder be the man they turn to, which makes him a player worth keeping a close eye on.
