Round Recap:

The third round has more talent than usual this year. Out of all 10, there really isn’t a question mark here. Kerryon Johnson has dramatically launched up people’s draft boards and rightfully so. Johnson is set to be the focal point of the Lions offense and should see work in the passing game as well with Theo Riddick gone.

Nick Chubb would be a first-round choice if Kareem Hunt was not signed by the Browns this offseason. And while eight weeks seems like a lot, no one wants the headache of their top running back having to split targets with the playoffs coming around. That moves him down to the third round in which he’s being drafted as an RB2 rather than RB1.

The five wide receivers that have fallen to the third round all have the potential to be WR1s as they have all shown to be that in their past. Theilen was the WR7 a season ago while Diggs sat at 10 and Allen at 12. Hilton was the 14 and Julian Edelman missed four games but still finished at the WR20. Incredible value in the third if you want to go running back early.

The second tight end came off the board as well in Zach Ertz as he will certainly be Carson Wentz’s favorite receiver once again this season. On to Rounds 4 and 5.
