6. Cardale Jones

Could Cardale Jones eventually be the successor to Philip Rivers with the Los Angeles Chargers?

Tyrod Taylor may be ahead of Jones at the moment on the depth chart, but the former Ohio State star has always been an intriguing option in the NFL, and it wasn’t too long ago when many believed he was capable of being a starter.

Of course, if this were to end up being a move that Los Angeles considered, Jones would most likely still be a backup to Brissett, but also this would at least provide the Chargers with some insurance at the position since they could use all of the extra help possible.

Brissett certainly looked solid two years ago when filling in for Luck during the 2017 season, but even the Colts know the quarterback succeeding this year is far from a guarantee.

Jones certainly doesn’t have the starting quarterback like most players on this list, but for all Indianapolis knows, a fresh start on a new team could be exactly what he needs to help his career get on the right track.

Trading for a quarterback like Jones who is currently No. 3 on the depth chart for the Chargers may not sound like the best idea for the Colts, but once again at least deserves the consideration now that Luck is out of the picture.
