7. Jameis Winston

Over the last couple of years, there’s been plenty of discussion over whether Jameis Winston is the right answer for the Tamp Bay Buccaneers at quarterback since most football fans assumed the former No. 1 pick would have reached the playoffs by now.

More from NFL Spin Zone

With Winston entering the final year of his contract, the Buccaneers will eventually need to decide if he’s worth keeping around for the long run, or if the team would be better off with someone younger under center.

It would be one thing if Winston needed some extra time to develop, but Tampa Bay has given him every opportunity in the world to prove himself worthy of the starting job, and if the Buccaneers miss out on another playoff berth, their patience could very well be worn out.

This late in the preseason, the chances of Tampa Bay willing to trade Winston seems slim since it would look like the Buccaneers are taking a step back, but also what if Indianapolis made an offer they couldn’t refuse?

Long shot or not, this still seems like something worth considering for the Buccaneers if the opportunity were to present itself, especially if Winston could be on his way out once the 2019 season is complete.
