2. Kyle Sloter

Quarterback Kyle Sloter continued his stellar start to the 2019 preseason for the Vikings on Saturday afternoon in Minneapolis, showing the team why they should consider keeping him on the 53-man roster going into the regular season.

Sloter, who is entering his third professional season, led all Minnesota quarterbacks in the victory while going 6-for-7 with 102 yards and one touchdown.

With a completion percentage of 85.7 percent and a quarterback rating of 158.3 in the game, Sloter helped lead the Vikings to a win in the second half once he entered the game.

The 6-5 quarterback out of Northern Colorado has put together an impressive preseason while making three appearances. In those three games, he is 23-for-27 with 280 yards and three touchdowns, although that has mainly come against second- and third-string defensive units.

Sloter, who signed with the Vikings as a practice squad player in 2017 before being added to the active roster shortly after that, went 6-for-7 with 62 yards and one touchdown in Week 1, while finishing 11-for-13 with 116 yards and one touchdown in Week 2 of the preseason.

Although it is yet to be seen if Sloter has the ability to outlast Sean Mannion for the backup quarterback spot behind starter Kirk Cousins heading into the regular season but he has certainly made a case for himself to make the cut as the third-string QB going into the official start to the year.
