First place schedule

For the first time since 2010, the Bears ended a season atop the NFC North. It wasn’t something that many expected, but Matt Nagy was able to completely turn the team around during his first year as their head coach.

As is the case with any team who wins their division in the NFL, the Bears will now take on each first-place NFC team from 2018 during the upcoming season.

Chicago was already scheduled to face the defending NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys in 2019. But thanks to winning the NFC North last year, the Bears now have to take on the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Rams this season.

Despite not having to face a playoff team until Week 7, three of Chicago’s first five games in 2019 are on the road and their other two matchups are against divisional opponents.

If the Bears are going to be a contender again this season, they will have to prove it pretty early in the year. If Chicago doesn’t get off to a good start in 2019, it could cause their season to fall off the rails fairly quickly.
